Scrapmaster's Paradise Monthly Challenge

This card was made for Scrapmaster's Paradise monthly challenge. The object was to use the color black and Sami's stamps. I love these challenges 'cause they get me focused in one direction instead of getting overwhelmed with so many choices.

I used Sami's Poppy Field Summer Stamp set for the flower and the verse. It doesn't hurt to have a few extra sympathy cards in the stash! This flower set is so versatile. Check out her SP Stamps Blog or her gallery for more great ways to use this stamp set.

The only thing I might have done differently would be to use brads instead of bling on the sentiment frame. I was making this kind of late at night. Let me know if you have any questions.

Ink It Pink Challenge 15

I am entering this card in Pink By Design's current challenge to make a Halloween themed project. I know I saw the idea for this card on another blog but I can't remember which one. If anyone recognizes it let me know so I can give credit to them.

The card is not actually for Halloween but for Sweetest Day. I don't think Sweetest Day is celebrated in all parts of the country. It was probably started by American Greetings which is located in Ohio. Another way to get people to buy cards! : )  I hope you like it!

Scrapmaster's Paradise Guest Designer Call

I'm entering this card at Scrapmaster's Paradise Guest Designer Call. The challenge is to use the color yellow.

I made this card for my mother-in-law. She had a dove for something like 13 years and "her" name (they originally thought she was a he) was Holy Spirit. I thought this dove stamp would be perfect for a sympathy card for her. The sentiment is from SP & Company Stitchery Doo Banner stamp set.

It's hard to tell from the picture but I stamped the dove on the circle then cut with a Spellbinder's die.
I then stamped the dove again and cut it out and attached the main part of the body over the stamp on the circle so that the wings lifted up a little bit. It looked great in 3D. Of course I always have to add a little bling. She loved the card and I hope you do also.

Going Buggy August Challenge

This card is being entered in Going Buggy's August Challenge. The challenge is to make a "girly" card.

I made this card for my niece's birthday using My Creative Time's Keepin' It Classy stamp set. This is a great set for "girly" cards.  Enjoy!!

Pink by Design Ink it Pink Challenge

I'm entering this card in the Ink It Pink Challenge 6: Ribbon.  I totally cased it from the July 2012 CardMaker magazine (pg. 14). I did change the colors, papers and ribbon. This is my first major attempt at quilling. It was very easy and not to time consuming.

I made this card for my girlfriend's birthday. She makes beautiful (and delicious) cakes and cupcakes so I thought this quilled cupcake would be perfect for her. I haven't given it to her yet so I hope she doesn't see it here first.

The doily I used on the background is just one that you buy in the cake decorating aisle of the grocery store. I've seen other cards using doilies and knew I had to try this. Of course it wouldn't be a card from me without some bling! : )

I hope you like the card!

SP & Company Royal Blue Challenge

I'm entering this card in SP & Company Royal Blue Challenge. The challenge of course is to use royal blue as the main color.

I used Just A Note  stamp set and Swirly Doo Valentine's stamp set for this card.

Here's the card I made for my dad and my father-in-law. It fits both of them perfectly!

I'm also entering it in the Art Impressions Challenge 67-Husband/Father and in Pink by Design Ink It Pink Challenge 2.
